Apple gets rid of Widget Apps from the store

Apple has started delisting widget apps from iTunes AppStore making many developers uncomfortable. Appleinsider reports that Apple features iPhone developers to eliminate widget apps from the App Store.

A developer for MyFrame’s Groundhog Software reported that the company received a phone call saying their program’s removed as part of removal of widget apps from the store.

Appleinsider also reveals that Apple seems to be targeting widget applications and maintaining thick control about homepage and some apps that are essentially equivalent to the desktop. Also, Apple has already announced Folders, a new iPhone OS 4 feature that organizes apps into relevant folders.
